We compared 5 popular ways to fade dark spots. Here's how they stack up.

Cost, downtime and whether you can do it at home.

Published on Nov 1, 2026

Dark underarms, inner thighs, post-breakout marks, uneven patches. Whatever yours is, you've probably been told about laser, peels, prescription creams and a dozen scrubs.

We lined them up side by side on what actually matters: what it costs, what it does to your week, and whether you can stick with it.

Why the clinic options are hard to stick with

Laser and peels can work, but they cost hundreds, need repeat appointments and come with recovery time. Dark spots tend to return when the friction or inflammation behind them continues, so many people end up paying again.

Why scrubs and whitening soaps backfire

Most dark areas are driven by friction and inflammation. Scrubbing adds friction and harsh soaps add irritation, which tells your skin to make more melanin.

Kojic and Turmeric routine

Why the Kojic & Turmeric routine wins on value

Kojic Acid blocks the enzyme that creates melanin. Turmeric calms the inflammation that triggers it. You use it at home, every day, in 30 seconds, with no downtime.

Consistency is what fades dark spots, and this is the option people can actually keep up.

Questions, answered

How do I use it?

Lather the wash on the areas you want to target in the shower, leave it for 30 seconds, then rinse. Use the pads on your most stubborn spots. Consistency is what gets results.

How long until I see a difference?

Everyone is different. Jasmine noticed lighter underarms within about 8 weeks and post-breakout marks fading after about 6 weeks. Deeper patches took her around 10 weeks to start changing.

Can I use it on my face and body?

Yes. The wash is gentle enough for daily face and body use, with no harsh sulfates. If you have sensitive skin, patch test on a small area first.

What if it doesn't work for me?

You're covered by the 30-Day Glow Guarantee. If you don't see a visible difference, email support@glowskincare.com.au and we'll make it right.
